Blog two - stimulus and music

This week, we formed groups and selected our stimulus for the choreography. Initially, we thought of basing our performance on the TV show called "The Traitors." It is a psychological and competitive reality game of "trust and treachery," where 22 strangers, known as the Faithfuls, live in a castle, working together in the hope of winning the prize money. However, there are traitors among them who aim to eliminate the Faithfuls and claim the prize money for themselves. (The traitors) The show explores themes of deception and false identity within social interactions. This led us to think about the modern ‘human condition’ and what it means to be human within society today, referring to the shared experiences, emotions and challenges we all share. (Practical Psychology, 2023) We believe that the topic we are focusing on is relevant in today's society, as it is portrayed in popular TV shows such as The Traitors and Big Brother. Understanding what makes these topics interesting to the public will help us make our piece more engaging for the audience. Going forward, we will continue to develop our ideas about social interactions within the human condition, drawing inspiration from relevant TV shows and films, as well as conducting our own research on the way people interact in today's society.

We also began to think about the music we will use from our piece. As a group we have decided to use ‘This is a man’s world’ by James Brown, which reflects the themes we aim to explore in our piece. We will also use another pieces of music however we are yet to decide on these
